Christmas Day! PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 25 December 2007

It's only 00:29 AM so still a night to go through, but its Christmas!

I was naughty and bought myself an early pressie, a Canon 400D. You can see the first image above in the header graphic. I'm new to SLRs so bare with me lol. I hope to add some new pics to the gallery on a semi-regular basis, and when I get the chance, some from the country.

I suppose I ought to shuffle off to bed. There's some old film on TV, Sexy Beast, it reminds me of The Business. Old films FTW hehe.

Well, catch up tommorow.

It's 12:57 PM, mince pies and  a cuppa tea at the ready! I've opened some pressies. Mum got me a few nice jumpers (I'll upload some pics later), a Clarkson book, some obligatory socks (lol) and of course my new Ben Sherman coat (very nice!). Jon got me a warm green Schott coat, perfect for the Winter chills! And Jon.C the smallest bottle of smellies I've seen. It smells nice though.

Alex is due over soon, so maybe I'll take some pics later. It's raining outside, so no Winter shots. There's no snow anyway. Welcome to the 21st Century Mr Rogers!

I've uploaded some pictures to the Gallery. I tweaked them a little in Photoshop which discarded the EXIF data.  When exporting (Save for Web) they are much brighter with more contrast than they appear native in PS too (anyone?). I'm impressed with my first try though.

Time is 08:22 PM, guess I'll see what's on TV. Adios!

23:29 PM and the night is nigh.  Xmas dinner was lovely, good job Mum! Turkey and cranberry sauce, yummy! I didn't get any pictures though, and I fear I got my camera a little too close to the candles (lol!). A little bit of Jim Quinn and some Eve for me now then. Ta ta.

This is probably a function both of the calibration of the monitor to the camera (look this up!) and also the two most common formats - Adobe RGB for printing, but straight SRGB for web and screen display. The colour gamut (look that up too!) varies quite a bit. Read and all will be revealed!

Ahaa! I had read a little on the colour spaces used and have come across gamut before. I've since been using Lightroom and now the colours are consistent from camera to screen (to print hopefully!).
