I was browsing for some MySQL tutorials today and fell upon one of devarticles.com pages. It provided the basic information needed, however, I couldn't help but feel the ethos of good web design was lost amongst what could only be describes as stupid fuggin adverts and rollovers.

First full week back at work in the New Year today. The Monday of Mondays! All good so far though.

I've been experimenting with close-up (macro) shots using my new cam and have posted a small selection over in the Gallery. I'm thinking I need a prime lens though and learn to use the tripod as they're a bit blurry. Still, not a bad effort for a newbie (I hope).

Firstly, Happy New Year!

I sat down and watched the New Year in with a JD & Coke and a bowl of ready salted Hula Hoops. As the stroke of midnight loomed I decided to capture any local fireworks with my new camera. Quickly flicking through the Index 'B' revealed nothing about Burst Shot mode. At 55 seconds to go I readily washed my hands of crispness and cracked open the case, only to smudge grease onto the rubber parts of the camera.

It's only 00:29 AM so still a night to go through, but its Christmas!

I was naughty and bought myself an early pressie, a Canon 400D. You can see the first image above in the header graphic. I'm new to SLRs so bare with me lol. I hope to add some new pics to the gallery on a semi-regular basis, and when I get the chance, some from the country.

I have to admit, it doesn't feel very Christmasy, the shops have been bantering about it for months now. I'm sure a few mince pies, JD, and Xmas TV will soon sort that out, hehe.

Xmas looms and in true Xmas tradition we went out for a night on the town at work.

A little bowling, a meal at The Outback, then onto Jumpin jacks (then the Sugarhut!).

A good laugh was had by all. I've uploaded some pics to the Gallery so you can see for yourself
