Adobe Lightroom 5.0

Adobe have just released Lightroom 5.0.  I’ve only just installed it and will be giving it a test drive very soon.  I’m especially looking forward to the align features.  On a side note, as a member tof Creative Cloud, it didn’t cost a dime! :p

Fly Fly on Flickr. 1.6 sec at f/7.1 | 65 mm | ISO 100 I have much respect for anyone that shoots handheld with the MP-E macro lens; I’ve tried, and it requires patience and a steady hand. Suffice to say, this was taken with a content fly and a sturdy tripod.

Through the eye of a needle

Through the eye of a needle on Flickr. 30.0 sec at f/16 | 65 mm | ISO 100 I’ve currently playing with an MP-E 65mm macro lens and MT-24EX flash. This is my first attempt, and although the flash needs some diffusing I’m pleased with the result. Expect more macro exposures soon!

Autumn Leaves Autumn leaves on Flickr. With autumn well I’m swing I took a visit to the local park to capture the captivating colours. The leaves, despite they’re passing usefulness, look quite majestic laying on the ground. ¹⁄₁₂₅ sec at f/7.1 | 18 mm | ISO 100

Chess Set

Chess Set on Flickr. This chess set was a present to my parents many years ago and has since passed down to me. The pieces are hand carved and make for some great subjects. ¹⁄₈₀₀ sec at f/3.5 | 50 mm | ISO 100

The Many Faces of Thomas

I created this when Thomas was a couple of weeks old, exploring the many ways his faced moved. It brings a smile to my face every time I look at it.

A bug’s life…

A bug’s life… on Flickr. This is my first foray into macro photography. Shooting macro can be tricky at the best of times, so given it was taken hand-held outside I’m extremely pleased with the result. ¹⁄₂₀₀ sec at f/4.5 | 90 mm | ISO 200

Mannequin on Flickr. This is the final result from my second photography project. There is some post-processing in Photoshop to remove the mannequin’s stand, and some tweaks in Lightroom to achieve the desired lighting. All-in-all I think it came out very well. ¹⁄₅₀ sec at f/4.5 | 34 mm | ISO 100
